Personal Biography
I am a native Southern California boy! I grew up just down the street in Chino and attended Ontario Christian School K-12 and graduated in 1995. While at OC, I was heavily involved in athletics, competing in Cross Country, Soccer, and Baseball. After HS, I had the opportunity to continue playing soccer for four years at Trinity Christian College, where I was proud to be called a TROLL! My wife Ruth (OC Alumni 97′) and I currently reside in Ontario, CA, with our son Aaron and our dog Dodger. We welcomed Aaron to our family on February 2, 2011. He has totally changed our perspective on life. Ruth manages Dr. Bob’s Ice Cream, located on the LA County Fairgrounds. We attend CrossPoint CRC. We enjoy rooting for our favorite teams: LA Dodgers, Denver Broncos, LA Lakers, the Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Teams. As a family, we love to fish whenever we get the opportunity and especially enjoy camping. I compete in the SWBA, a saltwater bass fishing competition, with OCS teacher Dave Belden.
Philosophical Biography
I am a part of education, because of the three loves that I have. First, is my love for kids and the relationships that we are able to build with them as educators and coaches. This comes from my own experience throughout my schooling. There were so many of my teachers and coaches who had such a positive influence on my life. That mentorship is something that I see as being at the heart of education. Second is my love for athletics. I believe that they provide an avenue and teaching ground that can help shape and mold our students as Christian Leaders. The bonds that are created within a team setting lead to meaningful relationships and a kinship that can last a lifetime. Third, and most important, is my love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe in a sovereign God that is in control of all things at all times. It is through him that we are redeemed. I am eager to seek his will in all things as I serve here at Ontario Christian School and in my life.
