Professional Biography
I am privileged to be a part of the Bible department at OC. It is a blessing to educate young people in God’s Word and God’s world. I have been a teacher at OC since 1995 and I thank the Lord for the opportunity to educate teenagers in biblical studies. I graduated from Florida Bible College with a degree in Biblical Education. I then attended and graduated from Westminster Seminary in Escondido, California in 1995. I received a Masters in Religious Studies.
Personal Biography
I am married to my wonderful wife Debbie and the Lord has blessed us with a son named Daniel. My wife loves to cook and I love to eat good food, so it’s a match made in heaven. Together we bring up our son in the ways of the Lord… and he teaches us how to play the latest video games. I enjoy reading, especially books related to Christianity, the Christian life, Apologetics, World Religions and current events. I also enjoy biographies if time permits. In my previous life I used to enjoy playing a little tennis. Hopefully my wife and I can resume that sport in the near future. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Philosophical Biography
I teach the Bible classes for the freshmen and seniors. Freshmen learn Old Testament. Seniors learn about World Religions and Cults. I also teach an elective class on the book of Revelation – it’s not as scary as you may think. Additionally, I usually teach Reformed Perspectives (Bible doctrine) in the summer. I love teaching and I love teaching the Bible and related matters. As well, I greatly enjoy interacting with students that have a desire for biblical truth €“ for God’s Word is the foundation for all truth in general. In His light, we see light (Ps.36:9). I believe a teacher should be able to pass on biblical truth to students in a way that is comprehendible and engaging. A teacher’s passion for the subject matter and, most importantly, a passion for Christ and His Word should be evident to those who hear. Students need to know what God has done, especially in the person of Jesus Christ, in order to have an image by which to judge and guide their own lives and to possess wisdom by which to discern truth. Scripture is our lens, the lens through which sinful people see with the eyes of Christ. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Thanks for visiting and blessings to you.
