Professional Biography

I graduated from Biola University in La Mirada, CA in 2003. There I received my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and my California Teaching Credential. I have done some post-graduate work through Biola as well as the University of San Diego. My teaching career began with teaching in Norwalk/La Mirada School District. During my time there, I covered several different grade levels from 2nd to 5th. In 2006, I began my career here at Ontario Christian and love being here. I have taught for 6 years in the 6th grade. This is my second year teaching 5th grade here at OC. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be here and to get to know your child.

Personal Biography

I was born in Long Beach, CA, and grew up in the LA County area. I was blessed to be raised in a wonderful Christian family. I was raised by two parents who strove to give us the very best in our family lives, education, and our faith. I graduated from our rivals, Valley Christian High School in Cerritos, CA. During my time at Biola University, I met my husband. In 2004, we married. We currently live in Chino Hills, At Christmas of 2006, my husband surprised me with the gift of our “firstborn” our Boston Terrier, Baxter. We were then blessed with the gift of a little girl in 2009. Our daughter’s name is Kacie, and she is a great joy in our lives. She will begin full-time Jr. Kindergarten this year. She is very excited. We were also blessed with the birth of twins, Nolan and Libby in 2012. They are now two and a half years old and doing so well. They are SO cute and tons of fun. We are a truly blessed family. I enjoy many different activities. Spending time with my kids and my husband would be at the top of my list. I also really enjoy reading when I have time. We are blessed to both have our extended families nearby. We often spend weekends with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Philosophical Biography

I have four main goals as an educator of 5th graders here at Ontario Christian. My primary goal is to encourage each individual student in their relationship with Jesus Christ. I will do my best to challenge them, and to present His word as truth. My second goal is to help 5th graders transition from a 5th grade student to a 6th grade student. We will focus on being responsible and organized to better prepare for their future educational careers. Thirdly, I will strive to present the standards and to support them in the learning process. Finally, my goal is to build a personal relationship with each individual student. I want them to know they can trust me and rely on me, whether they are dealing with academic, social, or personal issues. I am here to support them whenever I am needed. I believe that Christian education provides so much more than just an education. It is important for me to help students grow spiritually, as well as academically. “We are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
