ā€œFor we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.ā€ Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

As part of the Ontario Christian High School Fine Arts program, students learn to appreciate and celebrate the arts in various classes, clubs, showcases, and performances. Our courses meet all California Visual and Performing Arts Standards and are centered on the core Christian principles taught throughout all education areas at Ontario Christian School.

Music Department

The goal of Ontario Christian’s Music Department is to teach students about who God is through music. Students develop their skills as musicians in one of our bands or choir programs. They are invited to showcase their talents and serve one another through concerts, pep rallies, chapel, athletic competitions, local churches, and community events.

Drama

Dramatic Arts is an elective course that emphasizes the process of informal acting. All projects will involve students in Āgroup or individual participation: pantomimes, improvisations, monologues, scenes, and oneĀ act play performances. Students will learn the foundations of acting which include: blocking, characterization, attention to detail, listening, speaking, and movement. A brief history on behind the scenes work which includes: directing, stage setĀup, and sound/lighting, will aid students in an understanding of how to improve their overall acting skills. Senior Talent Show

Toward the end of every school year, nearly half the senior class participates in our annual Talent Show. They act in, write, edit, and work behind the scenes to produce skits introducing each Act. These skits are connected by a common theme typically based on the latest trends in pop culture. The annual Talent Show is traditionally held toward the end of the school year and is an excellent opportunity to highlight the whole student body’s God-given talents in a highly collaborative and communal experience. Acts range in participation from various age groups: from our elementary, middle, and high schools to faculty, alumni, parents, and people from the community at large!
