Fine Arts
The Ontario Christian High School Fine Arts program provides a God-centered approach to developing creative learners who employ their talents to honor Him and express their knowledge through music, visual art, and theatre.
āFor we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.ā Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
As part of the Ontario Christian High School Fine Arts program, students learn to appreciate and celebrate the arts in various classes, clubs, showcases, and performances. Our courses meet all California Visual and Performing Arts Standards and are centered on the core Christian principles taught throughout all education areas at Ontario Christian School.

Music Department
The goal of Ontario Christian’s Music Department is to teach students about who God is through music. Students develop their skills as musicians in one of our bands or choir programs. They are invited to showcase their talents and serve one another through concerts, pep rallies, chapel, athletic competitions, local churches, and community events.
Music appreciation is cultivated through the study of theory, observing vast genres and performances, and discerning compositions through listening leads to building on creativity in music..
Our award-winning music department strives for excellence so that God may be glorified. There are a variety of ways for musically-minded students to get involved…
Pep Band
Pep band offers students a chance to get the basic concepts of what it means to march (parade and field-style) and perform pep music outdoors. Members of pep band provide the soundtrack at home football games, parades, and rallies, as well as local sporting events!
Jazz Band
Our jazz band is a voluntary group of students who get the chance to learn about jazz history, play jazz standards, and build skills in improvisation and creativity. This group plays for rallies, home concerts, and even serves the community by entertaining for events!
Concert Band
Concert band is our primary ensemble, which all students enrolled are a part of. While primarily a wind and percussion group, we welcome those who play strings to be a part as well. We take part in competitive and non-competitive festivals, team up with local colleges and composers, and put on three concerts a year.

Drama
Dramatic Arts is an elective course that emphasizes the process of informal acting. All projects will involve students in Āgroup or individual participation: pantomimes, improvisations, monologues, scenes, and oneĀ act play performances. Students will learn the foundations of acting which include: blocking, characterization, attention to detail, listening, speaking, and movement. A brief history on behind the scenes work which includes: directing, stage setĀup, and sound/lighting, will aid students in an understanding of how to improve their overall acting skills. Students participate in one scripted and planned play for the student body (chapel/assembly)
Theater Arts
The Theater Arts course is designed to take an inĀdepth look at the many jobs to be done in mounting a show, from the formation of the company through auditions and rehearsals to the final live performance. Students will have handsĀ-on experience working in such areas as Directing, Assistant Directing, Prop Management, Stage Management, Costume Design, Set Design, Hair and Makeup, Lighting and Sound, Graphic Design, Publicity, and House Management.
Senior Talent Show
Toward the end of every school year, nearly half the senior class participates in our annual Talent Show. They act in, write, edit, and work behind the scenes to produce skits introducing each Act. These skits are connected by a common theme typically based on the latest trends in pop culture. The annual Talent Show is traditionally held toward the end of the school year and is an excellent opportunity to highlight the whole student body’s God-given talents in a highly collaborative and communal experience. Acts range in participation from various age groups: from our elementary, middle, and high schools to faculty, alumni, parents, and people from the community at large!
