Dramatic Arts is an elective course that emphasizes the process of informal acting. All projects will involve students in group or individual participation: pantomimes, improvisations, monologues, scenes, and one act play performances. Students will learn the foundations of acting which include: blocking, characterization, attention to detail, listening, speaking, and movement. Students will also learn a brief history on behind the scenes work which includes: directing, stage setup, and sound/lighting, which will aid in an understanding of how to improve their overall acting skills. Students will be required to participate in one scripted and planned play for the student body (chapel/assembly).
