Professional Biography
I am an OC graduate, I attended Ontario Christian School from K-12th grade. I attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. I graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. After college I worked at Chino Hills Christian Preschool for 3 years, while there I taught preschool for 2 years and I was a Kindergarten Aide for 1 year, during that year I also taught PE, Music & Computers to the Kindergartners. I was a substitute teacher for 1 year at the Chino Unified School District and the local Christian schools in the area. I had the opportunity to sub for grades K-8 which was a great experience. I received my master’s degree from the University of La Verne in 2006. I have been teaching 3rd Grade at Ontario Christian since 2006, I love it!
Personal Biography
I was born and raised in a Christian home on a dairy farm here in Ontario. My family still lives in the area and I enjoy spending time with them often! I have attended First United Reformed Church all of my life. It is a blessing to be a part of a church family. I enjoy leading the singing at Vacation Bible School and serving in the nursery and wherever else needed. I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, camping, and spending time with my family and friends.
Philosophical Biography
I feel that God has blessed me with the ability to work with and relate to children. I believe that children are a special gift from God. God has given each child unique gifts and talents, I enjoy learning about those and helping my students succeed. I am very grateful that I was able to attend a Christian school my entire life. Being a Christian educator, I have the opportunity to share about our Savior and what he has done for us. I am blessed to partner with parents and the faculty here at OC in teaching our students about God and His world. I pray that God will use me to make a difference in the lives of the children here at Ontario Christian.
