World History
World History is a year long course designed to help students learn more about the world that God created, and to learn about the patterns of interaction in human history. We are members of Godās creation, and thus we need to understand how the Lord has worked in History. In the first semester, students dig into the beginnings of civilization, river valley civilizations and then move onto classical empires in Greece, Rome, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. From there, we move through the Middle Ages in Europe, the European Renaissance, and the Reformation. In the second semester, students will focus on Absolutism in Europe, the Enlightenment, Scientific Revolution, the French Revolution and Napoleon. From there, we explore nationalism, the Industrial Revolution, and Imperialism in Europe. We conclude by examining World War I, World War II, and the Cold War and the effects these major events had on history throughout the world.
