Course Catalog

Students will engage in a challenging and in-depth continuation of Chemistry, designed to be the equivalent of an introductory college-level Chemistry course. Through both lecture and laboratory components, students will investigate topics such as the structure and properties of matter, chemical reactions, reaction rates, thermodynamics, and equilibria. In the process, students will learn critical problem solving skills for college-level questions beyond Chemistry. Part of the intent of this course is to prepare students for the College Board AP Chemistry Exam in May- registration for which is mandatory. Passing scores on this exam may be granted course credit by universities. Recommended for students in their Junior or Senior year. Grades are weighted on a 5-point scale.
