The generosity of the Ontario Christian student body was evident as our K-8 students participated in a Thanksgiving Food Drive for Food for Life Ministry. Led by ASB and K-8 School Counselor Mrs. Pamela Powell, the student leadership team filled an entire pickup truck with canned goods and non-perishable foods to bless many local families in our communities.
The K-8 counseling department at Ontario Christian aims to serve the community with at least two charity events throughout the school year. Our school has partnered with various organizations, including Hope Partners in Pomona, The Dream Center in Los Angeles, and Food For Life Ministry in Chino.
“Sometimes School Counseling is rallying our students and families to serve others in small or big ways! We had a successful Thanksgiving Food Drive that I know will bless the community.” – Mrs. Powell, K-8 School Counselor.
Events like the food drive exemplify the attitude of Christ to love your neighbor and is an expectation in Ontario Christian’s throughlines to be a servant leader who puts others’ needs before their own. The school counseling department is honored to serve alongside families that put others’ needs first.
Food for Life Ministry is committed to serving those in need with food and encouragement in the Inland Empire. Caring for the whole person, Food for Life Ministry provides food for the body and nourishes the soul. The donations of the Ontario Christian community have made a lasting difference for people in need.
